The German economy has now stabilized. The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), which is compiled by the German Association for Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (AMMPL) (or Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik e.V., BME) in conjunction with "Markit Economics", a British market research institute, is currently below the growth threshold of 50 for the eleventh consecutive month. Despite this, it has continued to steadily climb over the past five months. The index is currently as high as it was eight months ago in October 2008. This means that the time is now ripe to develop and invest in sound, sustainable procurement solutions.
