apsolut GmbH, together with HanseCom, an expert provider of IT solutions for the public transportation sector, performed a successful technology upgrade of Hamburger Hochbahn AG's catalog and content management system from SAP CCM2 to SAP SRM-MDM 3.0.
Hamburger Hochbahn AG is a privately organized and operated company owned by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. It is Germany's second-largest local public transportation operator and the largest partner in the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV), with more than 4,400 qualified employees and approximately one million passengers each day. In this project, apsolut was responsible for migrating approx. 800,000 catalog items for the technical implementation in partnership with HanseCom, as well as for training HanseCom employees in the new technology and content management tasks. SAP SRM-specific interfaces were adapted to the new system, and a new, custom-designed interface was implemented (to enable an automatic daily upload of the company's material masters into the catalog). Hamburger Hochbahn AG uses innovative solutions and the latest technologies in all areas, including IT operations, to ensure that it can offer high-value services and retain its competitive edge in the public transportation sector. From Hamburger Hochbahn's perspective, HanseCom as an experienced full IT service provider, and apsolut as an adept SAP SRM consulting company, made the ideal team for this project, and were particularly effective in their handling of the complexities involved. Hamburger Hochbahn summarized the project outcome as follows: "The end-users are delighted with the new, ultra-precise catalog system, and our purchasing department has no difficulty managing and checking catalogs. This makes the procurement process much more efficient."
