MVV Energie Gruppe

27/07/11

On behalf of our customers, the MVV Energie Group, a corporate network of energy companies with an extensive product and business portfolio for private and business customers, we worked closely with J&M Management Consulting to implement an upgrade from SRM 4.0 to SRM 7.0 (as a Classic Scenario) using a best-practice approach. MVV Energie, in line with its purchasing strategy, chose apsolut and J&M as service providers for the upgrade to SRM 7.0, as it knew that this team could be relied upon to ensure the continued integration and networking of internal processes, and to leverage the latest technology trends, in particular in relation in strategic purchasing. Regina Krüger, Head of Purchasing at MVV Energie, explains the Group's choice of apsolut GmbH as an SAP Service Partner as follows: "Thanks to the company's extensive expertise in SAP SRM, apsolut was the best fit for our requirements. In collaboration with J&M, apsolut acts as our full-service partner for strategic procurement and services in the area of SRM and related components." Each and every customer scenario is unique. As a result, customized analyses and approaches are essential. With extensive specialist expertise and methodological knowledge, J&M and apsolut develop and implement SAP SRM solutions that speak for themselves and offer measurable added value to ensure that our customers are strongly positioned for the challenges ahead. Jan Martin Kautz, eProcurement Coordinator at MVV Energie, also expects an increase in customer satisfaction among the Group's end users. With the new SAP SRM release, they will benefit from customizable user interfaces, a flexible definition of user roles, and a bird's eye view of spend and supplier data.

The benefits of using SRM 7.0 are clear:

  • Non-disruptive delivery of new functions: The stable core application can be enhanced with new functions in the form of Enhancement Packages, which cause no disruption to ongoing operations and reduce upgrade costs.

  • Enhanced usability thanks to flexible user interfaces: The user interface can be adjusted flexibly to suit roles and worklists in all areas of SAP SRM and SAP ERP.

  • Centralized identification of sources of supply: Enhanced functions for identifying sources of supply enable more effective negotiations with suppliers and the initiation of measures in SAP ERP directly.

According to MVV Energie, the upgrade increases the value proposition of the Purchasing department for the Group as a whole, by achieving sustainable savings and minimizing supplier risks (specifically, through optimized time management based on efficient processes, the creation of transparency as a key to optimizing global purchasing activities, compliance with processes and framework agreements, and improved supplier management).

Every single company-specific requirement was implemented to the letter by apsolut, which provided an ideal foundation for a custom-fit project approach. Thanks to the success of this project, we can expect MVV Energie to call on the services of the experienced team of J&M and apsolut again in the future. MVV was particularly impressed by how both consulting firms were on hand at all times to provide support and advice, not only during the technical software implementation, but also during the preparatory phase of designing processes and functions, during the process of software parameter specification, and at every step along the way to optimize organization of the project from start to finish.
