The GAEB Upload App: an apsolut solution for integrated SAP processes in construction industry projects

Companies in the construction industry, especially public utilities, use the data format of the GAEB (Gemeinsamer Ausschuss Elektronik im Bauwesen; means: Joint Committee for Electronics in Construction), whose aim is to enable efficient tendering, awarding and invoicing of construction services (AVA). Conformity with the technical rules and regulations of the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and the Public Procurement and Contract Regulations for Construction Services (VOB) has to be ensured.

apsolut makes GAEB files possible in SAP processes

Until now, it has been difficult to use the data format of GAEB in SAP processes, because there was no interface for GAEB bills of quantities. This is where apsolut can help: our new SAP Fiori app makes it possible for the first time to implement integrated SAP processes for construction services at different process points, depending on customer requirements. This makes it possible to present a continuous process for a company and its suppliers in SAP ECC, in SAP Ariba Procurement, SAP Sourcing, or from the Ariba Network.

Even multi-level purchase requisitions with just one click

A GAEB file can be uploaded via the interface of the GAEB Upload App, for example with the format X81. The individual items in the GAEB file are continuously transferred to the outlines of the purchase requisition using a background job. In addition, the app transfers all item and outline related data, so that the structure of the GAEB file is fully reflected in the purchase requisition. When this mapping is complete, the requisition number is displayed in the app. This means that you can create both a multi-level and a single-level purchase requisition in the SRP system with one click.
