Centralized procurement functions for an international seed producer
An international seed manufacturer approached apsolut to centralize its procurement functions as part of a company-wide transformation. At the same time, the project is intended to support the company's plan to expand further and pursue its IT strategy of switching from on-premise to SAP cloud solutions. The goal of the SAP S/4HANA Central Procurement implementation was to harmonize and automate procurement processes for a shared service center, ensure compliance with rules and guidelines, and reduce maverick buying. At the same time, the project is intended to serve as a basis for further optimizations such as Robotics and Machine Learning.
Some additional measures are planned: A global rollout in other regions, including the integration of additional SAP ECC on-premise systems, is being considered, as well as the relocation of further national companies to the SAP S/4HANA cloud. The enablement of direct product categories such as Stock Material and Material Masters is planned.
The following objectives have been achieved so far:
- Successful Go-Lives with a total of around 2,000 end users
- Very positive feedback from end users for the user-friendliness of the application
- Fast implementation and rollout after the pilot go lives due to a "Ready-to-Run" cloud solution with out-of-the-box integration to the SAP ERP systems
- Key functional innovations through SAP's quarterly delivery of a new cloud version
